Mission:

The Environmental Service committee of The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown exists to advance Rotary’s commitment to environmental sustainability. We support and lead initiatives that protect natural resources, promote climate resilience, and foster environmental awareness through service, education, and community partnerships.

Objectives

Promote Awareness
Raise understanding of environmental issues within our club and community through programs, speakers, and educational materials.

Engage in Hands-On Service
Organize and support projects like tree plantings, watershed cleanups, habitat restoration, recycling initiatives, and pollinator gardens.

Foster Partnerships
Collaborate with local nonprofits, schools, environmental groups, and other Rotary entities, including Interact and Rotaract clubs, to expand our reach and impact.

Support Grant-Eligible Projects
Identify opportunities to fund impactful environmental projects through Rotary District and Global Grants.

Encourage Sustainable Practices
Promote environmentally responsible habits within our club operations and events, such as reducing waste, conserving energy, and minimizing single-use plastics.

Inspire Youth Leadership
Empower young people to become environmental stewards by supporting school programs, environmental clubs, and service opportunities.
