2026 Rotary Club of Shepherdstown Golf Tournament

The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown held its 6th Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 18, at The Club at Cress Creek in Shepherdstown. A total of 88 golfers participated in this year’s event, which has been hosted at Cress Creek since 2021.

This year’s Champion Sponsor was Jefferson Security Bank, whose generous dual sponsorship supports both the golf tournament and the Rotary Club’s Craft Beer Festival, to be held at Morgan’s Grove Park on October 10, 2026.

To date, the golf tournament has raised $61,000. Proceeds have helped fund local and international Rotary programs and projects, support area nonprofits, and assist Shepherd University MedLife trips since 2023.

The tournament is also well known for its many raffle prizes, donated each year by local restaurants, wineries, distilleries, businesses, and community supporters. This year’s raffle included gift baskets and Hagerstown Flying Boxcars tickets, among many other prizes.

For the first time in the event’s history, the day began with a little twist: a 90-minute rain delay. The delay gave golfers extra time to mingle and enjoy an extended breakfast provided by Chick-fil-A, MJ’s Delicafe, and fellow Rotarian and former Rotary President Jim King. Once the rain stopped and the skies cleared, players headed out to the course.

On-course contests included Closest to the Pin, sponsored by Waugh Law & Mediation; Longest Drive, sponsored by Limitless PT; and a putting contest sponsored by Skinner Accident & Injury Lawyers.

Beverage sponsors included Precision Homes, WVU Medicine, Dawn Newland State Farm Insurance, Edward Jones, and new sponsor First United Bank and Trust. This year’s food sponsors included Rotarian Dick Klein and his wife, Kathy; WVU Medicine; and Viking Tree Service. Prize funds for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams were generously donated by fellow Rotarian Susan Reichel of The Reichel Team Real Estate.
