The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown welcomed Stefanie Nelson, the executive director of the Canterbury Center Nursing Home in Shepherdstown, and Doug Pifer, Recreation Assistant. They talked about the loneliness the seniors experience at the center and how something as simple as a bird feeder outside their window provides so much joy to their day. The Community Service Committee is committed to donating 10 custom made birdfeeders from Walt Eifert, and will continue to cover the cost of bird feed for the residents, as well as organize an on going schedule for people to fill the feeders. Walt’s feeders are deer-proof and provide little maintenance other than adding the seed.
