Celebrating Service Above Self: Dave Miljour Receives Paul Harris Fellow +4

At our April 28 meeting at the Bavarian Inn, our club paused to celebrate a remarkable milestone in Rotary service.

Dr. David Miljour was presented with his Paul Harris Fellow +4 recognition by Club President Dale Homan—an honor that reflects not only generosity, but a long-standing commitment to Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.” A +4 recognition is marked by four blue sapphire stones in the Paul Harris pin, each representing an additional level of giving in support of The Rotary Foundation.

Dave’s Rotary journey spans more than three decades. A member since 1991, he has been a steady presence in the life of the club, including serving as our 20th president in 2007–2008. His leadership and dedication have helped shape the character and impact of our club in lasting ways.

Beyond Rotary meetings and projects, as a beloved chiropractor, Dave has also left his mark on the broader community. He organized Rotary’s first 4th of July parade—an event that has become a cherished local tradition—and still brings it to life each year as he marches in the unmistakable likeness of Uncle Sam.

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition itself dates back to 1957, created to honor Rotary’s founder and to encourage support for the Foundation’s work advancing peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, and growing local economies around the world.

Moments like this remind us that Rotary is built not just on projects, but on people—those who quietly and consistently give their time, resources, and leadership to make a difference.

Congratulations, Dave, and thank you for your enduring service.
