From Judy Wilson: Just thought I’d send along a few pictures from this morning’s Rotary project at C.W. Shipley Elementary School.
Each second grader was able to choose 9 books to take home for the summer — tables full of adventures, animals, science, sports, mysteries, and more. Watching the kids carefully make their selections was a reminder that books still matter and excitement about reading is very much alive.
Annie Baronner and I were there helping organize the distribution, and it was a joy to see these students leave with stacks of books in their arms and smiles on their faces.
Small acts like this can make a lasting difference. A huge thank-you to everyone who donated, organized, sorted, hauled, and shared in the joy today. Literacy changes lives one book at a time.
