At our evening meeting on December 10, the Rotary Club of Shepherdstown was delighted to officially welcome two new members into our club family. We are always strengthened by the talents, experiences, and perspectives new Rotarians bring, and this week’s inductions were a wonderful reminder of that.
Whitney Ward joins us with deep West Virginia roots and a strong professional background in accounting and finance. A licensed CPA and graduate of West Virginia University, Whitney currently works with Nestlé Health Science in the pharmaceutical division. After spending several years in Northern Virginia, she and her family returned to Shepherdstown in 2024, where they now call home. Whitney has already begun getting involved—attending evening meetings and community events—and she is eager to contribute her skills and energy to Rotary service projects while building lasting connections within the club and the community.
We also welcomed Tracy Porter, a Registered Nurse who recently relocated to Shepherdstown and is enthusiastically embracing her new community. With many years of experience across a wide range of nursing settings—including community health, school nursing, and hospital care—she currently works as a case manager for an insurance company. New to Rotary, she has enjoyed attending meetings, learning about local projects, and connecting with fellow members, and she is looking forward to contributing in meaningful ways as she begins her Rotary journey.
We are grateful to the sponsors and mentors who helped guide both new members through the induction process, and we look forward to the many ways Whitney and Tracy will help advance Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self. When you see them, please join us in giving them a warm Rotary welcome!
