Shepherdstown’s Speak Story Series joined members of the Rotary Club of Shepherdstown at the Bavarian Inn the evening of June 10 for some good food, fine drinks, and community building. Attendees learned about Speak Story’s twelve-year history and its place in the country as a premier storytelling concert series, as well as its community outreach efforts to bring the world’s stories to local learners. Attendees included members of Shepherdstown Rotary and the Shepherdstown Town Council, and Speak Series Board members. A highlight of the evening was a set of humorous, touching, and educational stories from Alabama-based storyteller Dolores Hydock. Speak Story Series showcases a new artist each month both in person and online. The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown supports the integration and promotion of local arts and learning perspectives from these nationally renowned story tellers. The Bavarian Inn and the Asam family continue to support developing ways to increase tourism and strengthen community ties.
