The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown has inducted Rev. Gethin Wied as a new member. The induction ceremony was held at the Club’s March 26 morning meeting at the Bavarian Inn.

Wied was installed as the new Rector of Shepherdstown’s Trinity Episcopal Church in February, succeeding Rev. G.T. Schramm, who retired in January after more than 40 years of service in the post.

Born and raised in California, Wied was educated at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Classical Civilizations, with a minor in Archeology, in 2006. He worked in the private sector in California for eight years and then left to pursue ordination in the Episcopal Church at the Virginia Theological Seminary.

After receiving his Master of Divinity degree there in 2017, he returned to California and served as a Clergy Associate and the Day School Chaplain at St. James’ Episcopal Church in South Pasadena until he was called to be Trinity’s new Rector.

He and his wife Meredith live in Shepherdstown.
