New Outbound Exchange Student, Kate Colbert leaves for Denmark

Our newest Rotary Youth Exchange Student, Kate Colbert, recently left for her year abroad in Denmark.  Colbert participated in many Jefferson high school activities such as an officer for Interact Club and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards 2023.  She has been preparing for this experience for well over a year through various local & district interviews as well as several trainings.  Study abroad programs create worlds of possibilities, lifelong memories and new friendships for both students and the families they live with during their time away. Designed for high school students, Rotary Exchange offers a fun, yet safe way to travel and immerse yourself in another country. The Rotary Clubs of Jefferson County are very proud of Kate and wish her safe travels!  Pictured from left is Cara Keys, President of Shepherdstown Rotary, Alma Cedillo, Immediate RYE Rotex, Colbert, center, Laura Colbert, Kate’s Mom, and Chris Colbert, Kate’s Uncle.
