Member Angelina Gray Gives Talk about Girl Scouts

Tuesday morning Angelina Gray of Shepherdstown, West Virginia gave a wonderful talk on the impact of Girl Scouts in fostering confidence in our future leaders.  Gray gave an insightful overview of the many troops in Jefferson County and their accomplishments over the past year.  The main goals of Girl Scouts are to develop girls with courage, confidence, character, and to empower them to make the world a better place.  This is achieved through many avenues including camping, community service, STEM programs, and entrepreneurial skills.  Girl Scouts aim to grow leadership skills, build healthy relationships, and encourage girls to pursue their passions.

Angelina is the local Girl Scout Junior Troop 15099 leader, Service Unit (county) leadership team, SHARE (scholarship) and events coordinator, and Troop Organizer for Shepherdstown Elementary School. She is also a Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital Salute to Service Advisory board member to support military scout families in WV, MD, DC, and VA, and is a GSUSA National Delegate.  Angelina has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and Psychology; she taught Kindergarten and Reading/Math Intervention and now teaches part time at the Opportunity Learning Center, an alternative public school in Charles Town.  She is married to fellow club member Matthew and has three children: Joshua (25), Gloria (22), and Bella (10).
