The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown has inducted Linus Bicker as a new member.
The induction ceremony was held at the Club’s October 16 evening meeting at the Bavarian Inn. The accompanying photo from the ceremony shows Bicker, center, with Club member Austin Slater, left, and Club Membership Chair Dana Orsini, right.
Born and raised in Southern New Jersey, Bicker enlisted in the Army and served seven years of active duty in the Military Police Corps, finishing his military career as a Military Police Investigator. His wife, Rebecca, was also in the Army. They met and married at Fort Hood, Texas. The couple relocated to South Carolina where their daughter, Rachel, was born. She has since grown up and is a physician’s assistant living in Austin, Texas.
Bicker continued a 35-year civil service career with other agencies, in roles ranging from data analytics, healthcare compliance, policy writing, and program management. He currently serves as a technical advisor within a federal agency.
He and Rebecca moved to Shepherdstown in 2021.
He was elected in June to the Shepherdstown Town Council.
He has a BS Degree in Finance and Management Science from the University of South Carolina.
