Demonstrating the power of local partnerships, Lift Global, Inc., led by Executive Director Ellen McComb, presented a generous donation of $1,000 to the Shepherdstown Rotary Club in support of the school backpack initiative. The gift underscores both organizations’ steadfast commitment to enriching local youth and education.
Established in December 2022, Lift Global, Inc. is a West Virginia‑based nonprofit headquartered along Shepherdstown Pike, with Ellen McComb among its founding directors. As Executive Director, McComb brings energy and vision, guiding Lift Global’s community-centered programs that aim to uplift local families and neighborhoods through practical support and empowerment .
One standout initiative is Lift Global’s community garden project, located at Two Guys Farm on Route 480 near Shepherdstown. This vibrant garden grows fresh vegetables destined for local food pantry distribution, embodying sustainable community resilience. Though comprehensive online details are limited, the garden reflects Lift Global’s hands‑on approach to fighting food insecurity and promoting local agriculture.
Ellen McComb, whose professional roots trace back to Shepherdstown, passionately channels her leadership into building partnerships across sectors and strengthening the fabric of the Shepherdstown community. Under her direction, Lift Global continues to bring fresh, tangible support where it matters most.
Walt Eifert, Roary’s backpack project organizer, praised the donation, which helps ensure that local schoolchildren begin the year prepared, inspired, and supported. The backpack project will provide much-needed supplies and a backpack to 160 Jefferson County students at North Jefferson Elementary, T.A. Lowery Elementary, Shepherdstown Day Care Center, Blue Ridge Elementary, and Ranson Elementary—four Title 1 schools in all!
