Gina Sharps recently spoke to our club on behalf of West Virginia Oral Health Coalition by friend and fellow Rotarian, Dr. Marcia Brand. Sharps gave an update about the state statistics and resources for folks in our area. Though the state received a “D” and “F” in eight measures, Sharps spoke on important key differences that can help turn around our ratings.
- There has been a recent change in Medicaid Adult Benefit for recipients 21+ allowing folks to have coverage and getting regular check ups to prevent disease and decay.
- The need for water fluoridation in water for a 25% reduction in decay over a lifetime.
- Support Dental Workforce to increase health care professions in West Virginia
- Support Oral Health and Cancer Rights Act
Thank you Gina for your unwavering support in West Virginia! If you have any questions, please reach out to Gina Sharps via email at wvoralhealthcoalition@gmail.com.
