Shepherdstown Park Project

April 1 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm EDT

Becki Zaglifa is passionate about creating spaces where people come together to build stronger communities. Through her work in parks and recreation, she has seen firsthand how shared experiences foster connection, creativity, and growth. She joined Jefferson County Parks and Recreation in 2007 as an aquatics instructor, where she quickly discovered her passion for community building through recreation and the arts. Over the years, she has served in a variety of roles, including teaching art classes, leading camps, and helping manage a daily preschool program.

In 2014, she transitioned into a full-time position focused on marketing, design, public communications, programming, and community development. Much of Becki’s work centers on planning and coordinating community events — from concerts and festivals to local gatherings of all sizes. She has also successfully secured major grant funding, including support from the Levitt Foundation, the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History, and the Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs, along with more than $2 million in federal earmark funding.

Becki holds an Associate of Applied Science in Architecture/Residential Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Art–Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin–Stout. She is a Certified Festival and Event Associate, a graduate of Leadership Jefferson (Class X), and a Certified Marketing Professional through LERN. Her work reflects a deep belief that parks and recreation are where creativity, community, and purpose intersect to strengthen individuals and neighborhoods alike.
