Shepherd University’s Regents of Bachelor Arts Degree

August 18 @ 7:30 am - 8:30 am EDT

Beth Hansen serves as the Regents Bachelor of Arts (RBA) Coordinator at Shepherd University, where she works with adult learners, transfer students, military veterans, and working professionals to help them achieve their educational goals and complete their bachelor’s degrees. In her role, she advises students from admission through graduation, assists with degree planning, evaluates transfer credit opportunities, and coordinates prior learning assessment initiatives that recognize college-level learning gained through professional and life experiences. In addition to her work at Shepherd University, Beth has an extensive background in higher education and student success. She has served as a college instructor for nearly a decade, teaching history, social sciences, and humanities courses to traditional, dual-enrollment, and adult learners. She also serves as a Dual Enrollment Liaison, helping high school students successfully transition to college-level coursework while supporting faculty and academic partnerships. Beth holds a Master of Science degree in Sport Management from West Virginia University and has dedicated much of her career to expanding educational access and creating pathways for student achievement. She is passionate about helping individuals who started college but never finished find practical and flexible ways to earn their degrees. During her presentation, Beth will discuss Shepherd University’s Regents Bachelor of Arts Program, how prior learning and work experience can translate into academic credit, and the opportunities available for adults seeking career advancement, personal growth, or the completion of a long-held educational goal.
