Founded several years ago by Daan Vreugdenhill, this event needs at least 8-10 active participants to clean up the stretch of the Potomac River from the Steamboat Run meadow to the Shepherdstown Boat Ramp. Start time is 9 am on August 31 at the Steamboat Run meadow and it usually takes about 3 hours to get to the boat ramp. Pickups are needed to shuttle canoes and kayaks back and forth. At least 4 kayaks/canoes are needed and more could be necessary depending on number of participants. If there is interest, a potluck dinner will be held afterwards, 3 pm at the Vreugdenhills. All Rotarians would be welcome regardless of your ability to participate that morning.
