My Journey to Rotary Youth Exchange

My name is Kate Colbert, I am seventeen and live in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. I was formerly a two-year member of the Jefferson High School Interact Club, and I was the club historian for one year. This coming school year I will be an Outbound Rotary Youth Exchange Student to Denmark for my senior year of high school. My family is close and very supportive of one another. They are very excited about this opportunity for me. At home, I live with my mom, two sisters, and one brother. We always have each other’s backs and enjoy spending time together. In addition, I also have two dogs and one cat, which completes my family. Some sports that I like to play are lacrosse and swim. I have been doing swim for three years and lacrosse for only one season. Other activities I enjoy doing are hiking, baking, and reading. I am very excited to begin my Foreign Exchange year. While I am abroad, I hope to learn many things about the Danish culture, language, and hopefully figure out what I would like to major in for college the following year.
