Alma Cedillo: My Exchange Year, Belgium 2023-2024

My talk is titled “My Exchange Year, Belgium 2023-2024”. After my senior year, I was given the opportunity to participate in this program to further promote Rotary core values abroad and also learn to use them in my personal/future professional life. ln this talk, I plan to relate the personal experiences I had as a Rotary Youth exchange student during this past year. These personal experiences include how I adapted to a new language, living with “strangers”, being in a new culture, and more along these topics. I will be sharing the challenges that I faced along with all the positive experiences as well. The goal of my presentation is to give fellow Rotarians an inside view of what it is like to do an exchange in recent time and also show what the exchange program itself has to offer a young person.
