The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown has inducted Archie Hoxton as a new member. The induction ceremony was held at the Club’s April 16 morning meeting at the Bavarian Inn. In fact, he is still in touch with his childhood friends. They all went to Jefferson together and many of them went on to West Virginia University.  While at WVU, Archie studied English and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.

After college, he spent a couple of years as a missionary serving as a mentor to the Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy. Later, he went on to earn a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning and a graduate certificate in Charitable Financial Planning from Texas Tech University. While there, he served as a research assistant at the Center for Financial Responsibility and worked to advance financial literacy programs in the city of Lubbock. After graduation, Archie earned the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and went on to become a High Net Worth Financial Advisor at Vanguard in Malvern, Pennsylvania.

In 2023, Archie moved back to Shepherdstown, with his wife Jenna, his daughter Annie, and his dog Maggie. He has now partnered with his father, Rob Hoxton, at Hoxton Planning & Management, where they provide financial planning and investment management services to their clients. Outside his work demands, Archie serves the profession as a subcommittee chair for the CFP Board of Standards’ Competency Standards Commission.
