Eastern Panhandle Swim Club

The Eastern Panhandle Swim Club (EPSC) is a premier, coach-owned year-round USA Swimming Team based at the Shepherd University Wellness Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Originally rooted in the SUWC Sea Snakes program established in 2014, EPSC officially launched as an independent organization in May 2024. The club provides comprehensive training for athletes aged 5 to 18, including advanced year-round regional competitions across West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. EPSC prioritizes long-term athlete development by heavily instilling core values of accountability, courage, and empathy both in and out of the pool. The club is co-owned and directed by Head Coach Erica Wheatley and Associate Head Coach Tim Clayton. Coach Erica has nearly a decade of competitive coaching experience backed by multiple decades teaching safe aquatic practices. Her coaching philosophy focuses on continuous education to deliver modern, elite-level competitive training to community youth.
