SUMMARY:Winery Bus Tour\, April 26 (RSVP by April 18)
DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event has been closed. We are at capacity for the tour.\nLast year’s winery bus tour for our club was a big hit and our Club Services Committee has\, by popular demand\, scheduled one for this spring! Mark your calendars for Saturday\, April 26th. We’ve reserved another 25-person mini-coach bus from Elite Excursions WV to transport us to several wineries as outlined below (each stop will last about 90 minutes). The cost is $50/person (with members encouraged to tip the driver at the end if they are pleased with the service). Use the form\, below\, to sign up. Note: Wine\, beer\, and food purchases are NOT included – this cost is just for the transportation for the day to the wineries\, where you don’t have to worry about driving. Plus the fun we have on the bus\, with music and good friends together\, is not to be missed (if last time is any indication)! \nThis is likely going to sell out quickly. Registration priority will be for Rotarians and their partners. If we have left over spots\, we’ll let members invite outside friends. \nThe itinerary is as follows: \nSaturday\, Apr 26th 2025 \n11:30 AM: Bus pick-up at Bavarian Inn \n12:15 PM: First Stop – Bluemont Station Brewery & Winery (Bluemont\, VA). Like last time\, this is also a great starting point for a good lunch that they make there. \n2:15 PM: Second Stop – 868 Estate Vineyards (Purcellville\, VA). A favorite winery for many Rotarians (some who have memberships there) and there will be a live band that day as we stop there. \n4:00 PM: Third Stop – Two Twisted Posts Winery (Purcellville\, VA). Reservations are now being accepted for our annual District 7360 Foundation Dinner at the newly renovated Nittany Lion Inn in State College\, Pennsylvania on Saturday\, November 16th\, 2024! You are invited to join Rotary International Director Patrick Eakes and our own District Leadership team as we recognize our clubs\, celebrate last year’s giving\, and highlight the impact our support of the Foundation continues to make. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a silent and live auction and purchase the new District “Pets for Polio” calendar to raise additional funds for the Foundation. SUMMARY:SPEAK Series Event for Rotary
DESCRIPTION:The Speak Series Board (including Adam Booth) will give our club a short presentation about their organization and guest speaker Dolores Hydock (see bio below) will give us a “sneak preview” short story in advance of her official presentation the following day at the Community Center. Event will be held in the Bavarian Inn pub room and appetizers and cash bar will be provided. Cocktail hour goes from 6:00-6:45 PM\, and then guests are requested to be seated no later than 6:45 PM for Dolores’ presentation. Sign up registration will be on our website shortly (RSVP deadline will be June 3rd) and the event will be free to Rotarians due to anonymous donors who will pay for the Bavarian Inn food (but guests will have to pay for cocktails/drinks). \nMore information on Dolores Hydock: Storyteller and actress Dolores Hydock fills the stage with what one reviewer called “a swirl of characters and a cascade of lovely language.” Her wit and energy bring sparkle to her funny\, affectionate personal stories\, oral histories\, literary classics\, and medieval tales that make the magic and mystery of ancient wisdom come alive for 21st century story lovers. She is the 2023 recipient of the ORACLE Circle of Excellence Award from the National Storytelling Network. \nSpeak Series
