Vocational Service Award
Since 2003, the Shepherdstown Rotary Club has presented an annual Vocational Service Award to an outstanding community member.
The award is given to a person in the community who excels at his or her occupation and embodies the values and principles that exemplify the spirit of Rotary, especially service above self and a commitment to high ethical standards. In accordance with Rotary International principles, nominees from "all useful occupations" are considered.
The award consists of a plaque, which is presented during a brief breakfast ceremony. These presentations are made in the fall, usually in October.
The Club's Vocational Service Committee coordinates these awards.
