The United Way Day of Caring
The Shepherdstown Rotary has long been an active participant in the United Way’s annual September Day of Caring, which marshals individuals and teams from local businesses and organizations to work on community service projects.
Volunteers see at first hand the needs in our community and experience the satisfaction that comes with making a difference. Businesses benefit from teamwork and morale building among employees who volunteer. Our community becomes more vital as volunteers increase the capacity of local nonprofits.
Last fall, Shepherdstown’s Rotarians helped clean out the basement at the Shepherdstown Train Station and assisted the Good Shepherd Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers by painting, washing windows, and installing a wooden post for a new outdoor sign.
